2 Ways to Build Your Network: Carina Glover, HerHeadquarters
June 02, 2022
Carina Glover, founder and CEO of HerHeadquarters, recently joined a panel on the topic of collaborations at this year’s Grind Pretty Fest and touched on the topic!
Check out her top 2 tips on creating business relationships.
Be intentional & pay attention to opportunities to send a personal note. Example, if they shared online about a birthday, new baby, a promotion, a new business, or something else exciting, personally reach out to congratulate them. Then send a reminder 3 months out to check in on them. For example, how are you enjoying your new account manager position at X? Or what's your email? I'd love to send you an Amazon gift card so you can get some items for your new business or new house.
Everyone needs to eat and (most) people love food. Identify one person each month that you would like to treat to lunch, in person or virtually. (Just Cash App/ Venmo the money the day off). Set a day & time and use it to build a relationship, what are they professionally excited about, is there anything you two can help each other with, etc.
My strongest professional relationships are national and they've opened the biggest doors. I hope this helps.
Who do you want to invite to a lunch date next month?

Lanell Grant’s influence reverberates far beyond the music studio. As an artist and producer, she’s built her career on raw talent, authenticity, and an unwavering sense of self. Growing up immersed in the sounds of soul, funk, and classic rap, Lanell’s early love for music became a journey of self-discovery. Through her father’s old vinyl records, she found her own voice—a fusion of genres that breaks boundaries and defines her unique sound. But Lanell’s story is about more than music. As a wife, mother, and proud natural beauty, she radiates a confidence that inspires others. Her faith in God serves as her compass, a guiding force that she brings to life in her recent single, God’s Girl.
