As Women’s History Month comes to a close, Grind Pretty wanted to end it by celebrating a woman who isn’t just making history—she’s building it.
Ebony Austin, the powerhouse behind Nouveau Hospitality Group, is breaking ground—literally and figuratively—on The Plaza, a visionary, fully Black woman-owned business and affordable housing development coming to Forest Park, GA.
In collaboration with Mayor Angelyne Butler (Forest Park’s first Black and second-ever woman mayor) and City Manager Ricky L. Clark, Jr., Ebony is creating a space that will serve both entrepreneurs and families. The Plaza will feature:
-
9 business units on the ground floor, supporting local entrepreneurs
-
9 affordable housing condos above, designated for low-income residents
This is more than a development—it’s a declaration.
“We’re opening up new businesses and creating homes in a city that deserves it. We’re doing this for people who look like us,” Ebony said. “We believe everything we touch will be gold—thanks to God.”
With a projected completion of 18 months post-groundbreaking, The Plaza reflects Ebony’s unwavering mission to empower, invest in, and uplift Black communities. And this isn’t new territory for her.
From building an empire of beloved restaurants like Nouveau Bar & Grill and Nouveau Noir, to investing over $1 million in HBCU scholarships and offering rent-free housing to families in need, Ebony is a modern-day mogul with a heart for legacy.
Her mission aligns perfectly with Grind Pretty’s own: empowering women to build boldly, lead with impact, and show up in business without shrinking. Ebony Austin is doing just that—and more.
So as we wrap up Women’s History Month, we’re not just clapping—we’re watching, we’re learning, and we’re inspired. Because Ebony Austin is the true definition of grinding pretty, and we proudly honor the legacy she’s building—for herself, her community, and generations to come.
