GRIND FOR WINE: Vacation, But Make It Wine

It’s DJ C. DeVone and we need a break..a real Spring Break! Q1 has come to a close.

Vacation is about indulgence, but let’s be clear, we’re still showing up as her. That means enjoying the wine, the views, the vibes without completely throwing balance out the window.

Because yes, you can sip beautifully and feel good doing it.

When I travel, I curate my wine choices the same way I curate a playlist. Intentional, mood driven, and always a little elevated.

Here’s what I’m reaching for on vacation:

Start with Bubbly (Because obviously.)
There’s nothing like the sound of a bottle popping to set the tone. A crisp Champagne or sparkling wine is light, celebratory, and surprisingly lower in calories than most cocktails. It’s giving rooftop views, yacht energy, and “I just landed.”

Try: Ruinart Blanc de Blancs, La Marca Prosecco

Rosé All Day (But make it intentional)
A dry rosé is your best friend on vacation. It’s refreshing, pairs with everything, and doesn’t feel heavy in the sun. Think poolside, golden hour, soft life activated.

Try: Whispering Angel Rosé, Miraval Rosé, Château d’Esclans Rock Angel

Whites That Work Overtime
When it comes to white wines, I keep it clean and crisp. Sauvignon Blanc, zesty and citrusy. Pinot Grigio, light and easy with no fuss. Perfect when you want something refreshing and not overly sugary.

Try: Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc, Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio

The Balance

Let’s talk about it. Vacation doesn’t mean excess in a way that leaves you drained. It means alignment with joy.

Here’s how I keep it cute and balanced:
Hydrate between pours
Choose dry wines
Skip heavy mixers and sugary cocktails
Move your body, walk, swim, dance
Eat well, wine hits different when it’s paired with good food

Final Pour 🍷

Vacation wine isn’t about restriction. It’s about refinement. It’s knowing you can enjoy every sip, every moment, every experience and still feel like your best self when you get back home.

Because the goal isn’t to recover from your life.
It’s to romanticize it, everywhere you go.
