She Grinds Pretty: Meet Angela Fité, CEO and Founder of Kinkistry

Meet Angela Fité, CEO and Founder of Kinkistry

GP: Tell us about your business?

K: Kinkistry is a kinky curly extensions brand dedicated to inclusivity for all curl types.

GP:What is your WHY?

K: My why is to help advance the natural hair movement by creating products that help WOC show up as their authentic selves, no matter the occasion.

GP:How did you get started?

K:I was a consumer of kinky curly extensions and couldn't find textures that actually resemble tightly coiled hair. This need birthed Kinkistry.

GP: What "Not so pretty" obstacles have you faced while on your grind?

K:Where shall I start, there have been many.  When I first started Kinkistry it was difficult to gain the trust of consumers. An e-commerce extensions company was novel back then. Most women went to a beauty supply store to touch and try on hair.  Convincing my ideal customers to purchase hair sight unseen was a challenge I had to conquer to become competitive.

GP: What quote or mantra do you live by?

K: Delay is not denial.

GP: What does grinding pretty mean to you?

K: Bossing up and making it happen with a heart of gratitude, even during the difficult times. Be grateful during good and bad times because bad experiences help to cultivate the blueprint of your vision.
