Grind Pretty: Your energy is magnetic! How did My Best SHIFT come to life, and when did you know you were walking in your purpose?
Chantee Christian: My Best SHIFT was born out of my own transformation—some of it painful, all of it necessary. I had a previous company, Pesperctro, but it didn’t move with real intention. In 2020, I reached a point where my corporate job and my personal values didn’t align. That’s when I asked God, “What happens if I lose it all?” And He flipped the script: “What happens if you don’t?” That shook me.
I walked away from comfort, and confirmation after confirmation kept rolling in. From June 2020 to March 2021, I knew I was right where I was meant to be. My Best SHIFT is a call to action—to help others step into growth, with clarity and purpose.
Grind Pretty: As a best-selling author, coach, and powerhouse speaker, how do you manage it all without burning out? What does burnout really look like for high-achieving women?
Chantee Christian: Burnout for us high-achievers often shows up as fatigue, demotivation, even physical pain. We carry stress in our bodies. I juggle a lot, and truthfully, I’m still figuring it out. Boundaries are my best friend. Some days it’s saying “no” unapologetically, other days it’s choosing joy and letting someone else take the reins.
Burnout isn’t a badge of honor. Real self-care isn’t just the curated spa day on Instagram—it’s soul work. The goal is sustainability, not survival.
Grind Pretty: Let’s talk about your Conscious Leadership Summit. What inspired this space, and what do attendees walk away with?
Chantee Christian: The summit was sparked by two things: my book Awareness Put Me On and the coaching conversations I was having. Leaders were telling me, “I don’t know how to lead in a way that feels right.” I saw a gap.
CLS is not your average leadership conference. It’s immersive and transformational. We help leaders (re)define what leadership means in today’s world—mindful, inclusive, and impactful. They leave with tools and confidence to lead with intention.
Grind Pretty: For women who are grinding but gasping for air, what’s one shift we can make to protect our peace?
Chantee Christian: Give yourself permission to pause. The grind is glorified, but rest is a strategy, not a reward. Ask yourself: “What do I need in this moment to feel whole?” Maybe it’s stillness, maybe it’s a boundary, maybe it’s a hard stop. Honor that.
Grind Pretty: The “soft life” sounds good, but so many of us are still stuck in superwoman mode. How do we start saying “no” without guilt?
Chantee Christian: Whew, yes! We’ve been taught our worth is in how much we do. But saying no isn’t selfish—it’s sacred. Start by reframing it: “If I say yes to this, what am I saying no to for myself?”
Try simple, clear responses like “I’m not available for that right now.” The more you practice, the more natural it feels. Soft life is about alignment, not aesthetics.
Grind Pretty: What’s one major mindset shift you believe every entrepreneur or career climber needs to level up?
Chantee Christian: Stop waiting for permission to take up space. You are the table. Confidence isn’t about having all the answers—it’s about trusting yourself to figure it out. Own your brilliance now, not later.
Grind Pretty: What are three affirmations you want every woman reading this to carry into her next season?
Chantee Christian: Just three? Ok, here’s what I’ve got:
-
I am worthy of all my heart’s desires (and more).
-
With an open heart, I receive abundance in all forms.
-
I unapologetically take up space.
Speak them. Live them. Abracadabra—I create as I speak.
Grind Pretty: What’s the bigger vision for My Best SHIFT?
Chantee Christian: I see it as a global movement—shifting mindsets, leadership, and lives. From conferences to coaching, I want it to be the go-to space for conscious leadership and intentional living. Transformation should be accessible, and we’re here to make it real.
Grind Pretty: What advice would you give someone feeling stuck in life or business? How can she Grind Pretty through the pivot?
Chantee Christian: Start by getting honest about what’s really holding you back—fear, comfort, or confusion? Ask yourself: If I weren’t afraid, what would I do?
Then grind with:
-
Intention: Align your moves with your mission.
-
Confidence: Trust that you’re already equipped.
-
Grace: Rest is power. Pretty is in the peace.
The pivot is where the magic happens.
